Erudite
What this website and the school portal collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Erudite International School, G-15 Tiara Mutiara 2, No. 141 Jalan Puchong, Bt 6, 58200 Kuala Lumpur. For anything in this notice, write to admissions@erudite.edu.my or call +60 10-365 5942.
The form asks for your name, a phone number or an email address, the year group, and, if you choose to give them, your child’s name, a preferred day and a note. The school office uses these to arrange your visit and to follow up your enquiry. They are not used for marketing and are not shared outside the school.
The request is kept while your enquiry is open. Ask us at any time and we will delete it.
The portal is for staff and students of the school. It holds what the school needs to run: names, classes, school email addresses, timetables, attendance, marks and report comments, homework and photographs of homework handed in, fee invoices and payment records, leave requests, messages and announcements, shop orders, and the contact details and emergency contact each person enters on their own profile.
Each person sees their own records. Teachers see the classes they teach. The school office and the founders see the whole school. Every change is recorded with who made it and when. A suggestion sent anonymously is stored without the sender’s name.
Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, which cannot be turned back into the password.
Photographs of homework and of medical certificates are shown only to the student who sent them, the teachers of that class and the school office. Location and device details are removed from every photograph when it is uploaded. Homework photographs are deleted ninety days after the teacher has reviewed them.
Records are kept while a student is enrolled or a member of staff is employed, and afterwards for as long as the school is required to keep them. Ask the office what is held about you and for how long.
We do not sell personal data, and there is no advertising or tracking on this site.
The site sets only what it needs to work: a sign-in cookie for the portal, and a security cookie that protects the sign-in form. Your choice of light or dark, and a few portal preferences, are saved in your own browser and never sent to us. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you or your child, to have it corrected, to have a copy, or to have it deleted where the school is not required to keep it. Students and staff can see and change their own details, and download their own data, on the Profile page of the portal. For everything else, write to admissions@erudite.edu.my. These rights come from Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
If personal data is ever lost or seen by someone who should not have seen it, the school will tell the people affected and the Personal Data Protection Commissioner as the law requires, and will say what happened and what is being done about it.
Student accounts are created by the school office, not by students themselves, and parents do not have portal accounts. A parent or guardian can make any request in this notice on behalf of their child.
